Real 24K gold is 'fumed' onto the surface of the glass and then clear bumps are applied on top of it, which encapsulates the gold. The remaining gold in between the bumps is then burned away, leaving only the portions under the clear glass studs which magnify its beauty. Primarily a pinkish purple color, the gold can also have metallic and even iridescent green colors that shimmer in the light like a gem!
